Joan Stambaugh's Biography

I am Joan Stambaugh, a passionate advocate for individuals with dyslexia. My work is dedicated to raising awareness about the unique strengths of dyslexic individuals and sharing effective instructional methods that support their learning. My writing journey began with a desire to empower others and provide guidance and resources that can make a difference in their lives.
A former special education teacher, I currently work as a Certified Academic Language Therapist (CALT) and mentor at the Phillips Fundamental Learning Center (PFLC). Being dyslexic myself, I understand the complexities of neurodiversity, and have poured myself into writing to help readers understand the positive side of dyslexia and the importance of students receiving instruction in the Science of Reading.
In this space, I aim to share my thoughts, research, and insights on dyslexia, connecting with parents, educators, and anyone interested in better understanding this learning difference. Through my writing, I hope to inspire and educate, making dyslexia a topic of conversation that is both enlightening and supportive. Join me as we explore the world of dyslexia together and celebrate the incredible potential that lies within each individual.
